I first met Peter in the 1970s - I was living in the Pennines in the north of England, and at the time we were both working in the publishing industry. Peter was playing jazz trombone and fronting a jazz band at a local pub. Since then Peter and I have both had our share of travelling and international experiences, but have always managed to keep in touch.
